RMUTL Chiang Rai Participates in MOU Signing Ceremony and Forum to Advance National Strategies on Science, Research, and Innovation Aiming for a PM2.5-Free and Water-Secure Thailand

On July 15, 2025, from 09:00 to 14:00, at Utopia Room, 3rd Floor, Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony was held between key agencies in Chiang Rai and Phayao provinces. The event also featured a forum on the topic “Targeting Thailand’s Future: Clean Air and Water Security,” focusing on driving major strategic goals in science, research, and innovation.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Chamaiporn Rattana-Charoenchai, Director of the Administrative Office, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL) Chiang Rai, participated in the event along with Dr. Angkura Wongtragul, Acting Sub Lt. Dr. Duanphen Manoruang, and Dr. Kingkarn Puansurin.

The event was organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and highlighted two key panel discussions:

  1. Water Security: No Floods, No Droughts in 10 Provinces
    Presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sujarit Koonthanakulvong, Program Director (PD), together with executive representatives from partner agencies and involved researchers.
  2. PM2.5-Free Thailand
    Led by Ms. Saowanee Mungsujaritkan, Deputy Director of NRCT, featuring ready-to-use innovations presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Antham Khantachawana, head of the PM2.5 Mitigation Project for Northern Thailand using sustainable area-based integrated innovation.

This MOU and forum mark a significant milestone in uniting public sector agencies and collaborative networks to advance Thailand toward a future with clean air and sustainable water security.
