Students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), have earned international recognition by receiving an honorable mention award at the “International Smart EV Racing Academic Competition 2025,” held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical and Education (HCMUTE), Vietnam, from July 17–20, 2025. The competition featured over 60 participating teams from various countries.
The participating students were:
- Mr. Phuriphat Boonutith, 2nd-year student in the Modern Automotive Engineering Program (Continuing Program)
- Mr. Taweewat Taweewitthayakan, 3rd-year student in the Mechanical Engineering Program
They were supported by the GreenEdAsia-RMUTL project under the ERASMUS+ 2025 grant, with Associate Professor Dr. Pracha Yuenyongkul as project leader and Mr. Watanyu Chaiya, lecturer in the Modern Automotive Engineering Program, serving as team advisors.
The competition was divided into two main phases:
- Smart EV Model Development Phase
- Vehicle Control Skills Phase
The event aimed to promote the practical application of intelligent vehicle control systems and technology. It emphasized systems thinking, teamwork, and active learning approaches.
This achievement reflects RMUTL’s mission to cultivate students’ in-depth professional competencies and provide opportunities for global learning experiences. It also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
